Bluebird Foundation Announces Fall Scholarship Recipient

Bluebird Foundation Announces 2017 Audrey A. Lundeen Scholarship Recipient

The Bluebird Foundation is proud to announce the awarding of the fourth annual Audrey A. Lundeen Scholarship.

Natalie Blevins, a Proctor High School Senior, has been selected as this year’s winner and will be formally presented with a $2,000 scholarship check at the Christmas by the Lake CD release party next Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at the Clyde Iron Works Event Center, 2920 W Michigan St, Duluth, MN.The event is from 5 to 9pm and will feature live music performances and a silent auction. There is no admission charge to attend.

Natalie, in addition to music, participates in volleyball, Nordic skiing, track, student council, NHS, Rotary and journalism (editor) while maintaining a 3.967 GPA. She plans to attend Maranatha Baptist University to either Major in Nursing or Music Education and Minor in Spanish. She also plans to participate in the Choral.

The scholarship is named in honor the late Audrey Lundeen, the inspiration for the Bluebird Foundation. To date the Bluebird Foundation has awarded over $20,000 in grants and scholarships to area high school students

The primary fundraiser for the Bluebird Foundation is the annual Christmas by the Lake CD. This year’s 11th annual music collection is a two CD set featuring 32 holiday songs. Over 200 area musicians participated on the CD. Christmas by the Lake will be available at Super One Food locations, Lake It and Schmitt Music at the Miller Hill Mall, Gary Milk House, Benna Ford, Big Daddy’s Burgers, Engwall Florist locations in Hermantown and Superior and Holiday Spirit in the Lights.
